Music and Wine should be paired. We call this VINOMUSIC.
On this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a pairing of music and wine may sound so frivolous, but if music is to be a source of inspiration, I have got a bit of a treat for you. For just over twenty years now MLK Day has been designated a day of service. This can be something as big as helping out in a local soup kitchen, shelter, or community service, or as small as helping a family member or friend with a project, or simply being an ear to listen. Why not play some tunes to get into the spirit of service?
‘Rise Up’ the hit single from newcomer Andra Day’s Grammy-nominated debut album Cheers To The Fall is really a testament to rising up to the challenge. The piano-driven track features great songwriting, speaking of moving past barriers and rising to make positive change. The song is thoughtful and sonically bright, promising hope for a brighter day. When I listen, I most definitely feel inspired, but its brightness gives hope for a celebration.
After doing your work today, celebrate a job well done with Segura Viudas Gran Cuvée Reserva Cava whilst playing ‘Rise Up’ in the background. This complex cava is a “unique blend of delicate Macabeo and Parellada with a touch of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir”, containing notes of pear, apple, and wild berry. Blended with nine different base wines and aged to perfection, the Gran Cuvée Reserva is indeed a bubbly treat, that won’t break the bank.
